Sarbananda Sonowal seeks 75 Companies of Central armed paramilitary forces


GUWAHATI: Faced with first militant attack of his tenure, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal visited Kokrajhar on Sunday to take stock of the situation arising out of Friday's militant attack which claimed 14 lives .

A militant was killed in retaliatory firing. The State Government has requested the Ministry of Home Affairs for deployment of 75 Companies of Central armed paramilitary forces (CAPF) which had been withdrawn after the Assembly elections in April.
