Monsoon session: Congress plans to raise China, Andhra special status issue in Rajya Sabha

NEW DELHI: The Congress appears to be lining up tricky issues that could cause trouble for the government's business schedule in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, if not beyond. The main Opposition party has decided to raise the issue of the 'Prime Minister's silence' on the Chinese government's comment on the recent violence in Jammu and Kashmir and also raise the issue of "Prime Minister failing to keep the assurance on the floor of Parliament" on passing the Andhra Special Status Bill in the Rajya Sabha
He also accused the Centre of maintaining silence even to China 'significantly changing its stand' on Pakistan-Occupied Pakistan. "Chinese first referred to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir territory as the one 'administered by Pakistan' but for the first time they have said the Frontier Defence Regiment of the People's Liberation Army in Xinjiang along with Border Police Force from Pakistan will carry out a joint patrol along the China-Pakistan Border," Sibal said.
