Want to make winning a habit: Virat Kohli

India kick-started the 2016-17 season with an emphatic victory in West Indies, on Sunday (July 24). Led by their captain Virat Kohli's maiden double century, well-complimented by R Ashwin's brilliant all-round display, the visitors took 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series with an innings and 92-run victory in Antigua. Ashwin, who notched up his third Test century earlier in the game, shone on the fourth and final day as well to bag his maiden five-for outside Asia, and walked away with the Man of the Match award.
Life came full circle for Kohli, who buried the memories of a forgetful Test debut with a comprehensive win in his first game as captain on West Indies soil. Excerpts from Kohli's post-match press conference:
Victory in his first Test as coach, indeed a great gift for AnilKumble. What did he say? There was nothing out of the ordinary. Having played for so long, I think he understands how the players feel about a victory. He congratulated everyone and gave special mention to the guys who made important contributions in the game. Might not be seen too much but those important breakthroughs, important moments are very crucial for the team to win. He understands that very nicely and he was obviously very happy with the victory. It's a great start for him. First game as coach and we end up winning by an innings. Very happy all round.
